Well... who would have thought there would be an internet connection in this small African town??  The keyboard is French, so please forgive all the following errors.

I have sent three letters home... one to Diane, one to Ward, and one to Ken and Jenny.  I doubt any have arrived yet.  The letter Ward sent just arrived today; it was postmarked May 30.

Rather than repeat, let me summarize, as I am paying by the minute.  All is well.  The training from the Peace Corps is quite good, and we have always been prepared for our next step in Africa.  I just finished my first week in Alepe living with the Appia family. They are quite lovely.  The 7 year old is especially happy to accompany me anywhere. :)

It is hot as hell here and humid too.  I am pretty sure my towels will never be dry again!! My French is improving rapidly, and my family loves helping me practice.  My training class (30 of us) is made up of great, interesting people.  I am well fed and not homesick much.  The Ivoirians have welcomed us with open arms.  The only problem is our white skin seems to scare the babies!!!  I feel very safe here, and there is plenty to eat.

All I need for the time- being is love, prayers, and LETTERS!!

I will check email again later in the week.

Love!! Kate
