E-Mail from July 11, 2001:

Having a blechy hump day... tired... want to sleep.  But, tomorrow is market day, and I know I will feel better. :)  Nothing like shopping to perk me up!!

Diane rules... the Leatherman has been SUCH the winning tool here!!  It's been used for so much, from opening beers to fixing bicycles.  I've been meaning to tell her how awesome she is for several weeks now.

And, as usual, you all rock... yesterday I received four letters - a book from Brian and Karen, a letter from Jana, a letter from Hans and Barb, and a letter from Jana and Randy.  Didn't I feel special!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The book took three weeks to get here, as did Mom's letter.  The others took only two weeks.  Please tell everyone I said thank you thank you thank you.  Ward...as far as soap... plain old liquid hand soap, please!!

I think that's all... class starting soon.  It's AIDS week.  We are going to learn how to explain putting on a condom in French.  And you thought I wouldn't learn anything useful in the Peace Corps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Will write a letter about AIDS in Cote d'Ivoire this week so you can post it.

Love to all. Miss you enormously. ...Kate
